l know that the zippo manufacturing company repairs/replaces broken zippos if you send them in, and l have a problem with mine.

One of my zippo lids broke off and l was thinking of sending it in to see if they would replace the zippo. The insert itself is fine and l was wondering if l should tamper with it to get a whole new zippo..

Is this a bad idea?

Do not tamper with it. They can tell and it may mean you have no zippo at all

they will send you a new one either ways, but if they seen you have been tampering with it, they might not, just send it as is.
