l have seen the previous techniques for fixing this, i.e taking the spring out then tapping it or turning the wheel the other way, but this doesnt seem to resolve this.
The flint turns perfect when l take the spring out, but when the spring is it, the flint wont turn...
Please Help!
A new flint has done the trick :)

try new flint in it.
uncle jed is right. those zippo lighters has a lifetime warranty, send it back and they will send you a new lighter.
Send it in to Zippo.They have a lifetime warranty on them .They fix and return to you no charge......UJN
what kind of car is a zippo ? is it american? was it hard to take the spring out? sounds like a suspension issue..maybe you will have to take it to the zippo garage,i hear they have one near Detroit Michigan
the flint is used up your are turning against the metal that pushes the flint up.. this is hardened steel but the flint is soft and will allow the wheel to rub against it.. just change the flint
the flint does not turn. the wheel hits the flint and that is what cause a spark. get some more flint. the spring pushes the flint up.
