l have a Zippo pocket lighter that l just bought and l can not get it to light.l put lighter fluid in and checked the flint.l keep pushing the flint wheel quickly upward but nothing happens, not even a spark.what am l doing wrong?
now I've got it sparking sometimes but it still does not light!

Try removing the flint then putting it back in. The flint may be at a bad angle. Also, you can pull the wick out just a little bit with a pair of tweezers (or anything else you can pull it with). The wick may be too short. Do not pull too much out or you will have a huge flame and you will have to clip off some of the wick.

u sure its saturated in lighter fluid, u pulled up the top piece of cotton n put it in the second layer, and u sure screwed the flint in properly no special way just screw it in and how bout the wick is it a fresh wick(the white rope looking piece thats the part that lights up) u might have to change wick

do not push it up, push it down.
take your thumb and pull the wheel down
i hope this helps, if not perhaps you should not use a zippo
